It’s full speed ahead for Belleville Transit as it prepares for the launch of a brand new Thurlow ward bus service the day after Labour Day.

Wednesday night the Transit Advisory Committee approved the Thurlow route, known as Route 9.

It will provide 45 minute round-trip service from the built-up section of Thurlow into the Walmart-Quinte mall area, linking up with several other routes in the city.

Transit Operations Manager Paul Buck.

“We’re going to have the schedule for every bus stop posted at each stop just to help new riders get used to the service and the times so when they know when to expect us.”

The specialized mobility door to door bus service will also run in Thurlow.

Route 9 includes several stops along Bell Boulevard, including the Quinte Mall, and on Millennium Parkway, including Walmart.
