Municipal revenue from the permits for the city amounted to $36,844 in December, up from $27,366 collected in the same month in 2023.
Eight permits were issued in December for new residential construction project valued at $3.9 million while 16 permits were issued for ‘other residential’ projects valued at $857,400.
Residential permits in total for both categories resulted in $33,330 in revenues for the city for December.
In the “other” commercial category, Belleville issued 10 new permits to developers for projects valued at $62,670 which resulted in $664 in permit revenues.
One “other” industrial permit was issued in December with construction valued at $275,000 for $2,750 in city building permit fee revenue.
One government/institutional permits was issued in December for a construction value of $9,500 in construction value resulting in $100 in permit revenues.
Year-to-date permit statistics, meanwhile, show the city has issued 551 building permits in total from January to December with an estimated $200 million in construction value.
Those projects in total have yielded $1.3 million in building permit fees.
Building permits issued so far this year for residential recorded 434 units, including 311 apartments, 38 row houses, eight row house condos and 77 new single detached homes.
